Package ID Expiration Warning: Multiple Emails (68 and counting)

Jul 29, 2011 at 5:16 PM
There seems to be an issue with the Package ID Expiration Warning being sent out multiple times.

Dear choudeshell,
You registered the Package ID NRequests on NuGet gallery. This registration will expire on 8/5/2011. If you intend to use this ID you will need to upload a package using the ID before the expiration date. Otherwise the registration for ID NRequests will be deleted and become available to the community.

Yikes. I usually get two per package I have registered...nothing like 68.

Yes, there is a bug that has hit a few people. We are going to completely disable those notifications in the next day or two, as they're just not all that useful. In almost all cases, it's for package IDs that were created by mistake. And if it's really for an ID you think should be yours and someone else hijacks it illegitimately, we can always find a way to get it back to you.

Sorry for all the email spam!

No problem. Though I agree that the notification aren't that useful in there current form. Maybe just a little blurb in the NuGet Gallery account page would suffice.
