Runtime assemblybindings missing in Web.config

description

After upgrading to the latest (2.7) version of NuGet the runtime assemblybinding section of the Web.config is missing after installing ASP.NET MVC. Before update the following section was included in the Web.config:
  <runtime>
    <assemblyBinding xmlns="urn:schemas-microsoft-com:asm.v1">
      <dependentAssembly>
        <assemblyIdentity name="System.Web.Mvc" publicKeyToken="31bf3856ad364e35" culture="neutral" />
        <bindingRedirect oldVersion="0.0.0.0-4.0.0.0" newVersion="4.0.0.0" />
      </dependentAssembly>
      <dependentAssembly>
        <assemblyIdentity name="System.Web.WebPages" publicKeyToken="31bf3856ad364e35" culture="neutral" />
        <bindingRedirect oldVersion="0.0.0.0-2.0.0.0" newVersion="2.0.0.0" />
      </dependentAssembly>
    </assemblyBinding>
  </runtime>
As I have multiple versions of almost everything installed this breaks the solution for me at runtime and also crashes the packages I am currently in charge of.

Thanks for reporting. We've identified the cause and verified this is a regression. There's a duplicate issue of #3716 that we'll be using to track this further.
