how do I extract contents of nuget.tools.vsix ?

It's a zip. Rename it.

So I had done.

Step 1: nuget.tools.vsix --> nuget.tools.zip

Step 2: right-click > Open With > Compressed (zipped) Folders --> results in "The Compressed (zipped) Folder is invalid or corrupted."

What gives?

I'm no expert on compressed files. I suppose it's a run-of-the-mill Windows zip utility. Neither WinRar is able to open/extract the file.

What gives?

Try downloading the vsix again
