Install error: Unable to find assembly references that are compatible with the target framework '.NETFramework,Version=v4.0'

Mar 20, 2011 at 7:39 PM

My first attempt to use NuGet to install a package failed for SilverlightToolkitWP:

PM> Install-Package SilverlightToolkitWP

At line:1 char:16

+ Install-Package <<<< SilverlightToolkitWP

+ CategoryInfo : NotSpecified: (:) [Install-Package], InvalidOperationException

+ FullyQualifiedErrorId : NuGetCmdletUnhandledException,NuGet.Cmdlets.InstallPackageCmdlet

I installed the "old fashioned" way.

Thanks,

What kind of project were you installing it into?

It was a Windows Phone 7 project. The solution had several projects.

The drop down list in the console specifies which project command are targeting. You were probably pointing at the wrong project.

Looks like you are right – the wrong project was selected in the dropdown.

Thanks
