Uploading package to gallery fails

Feb 15, 2011 at 3:28 AM

Finally got around to trying to upload our nuget packages to the formal web site. Unfortunately their verification process fails:

The Package could not be uploaded: The PackageId 'CSLA .NET - Core' is not valid.

Maybe they have some limitations on characters or package id length?

We don't allow whitespace in the package id.

Thanks.

Ps: It might be worth updating the .NuSpec format documentation pages and also have the NuGet.exe tool fail when building a package.

A few things:

The NuGet.exe does fail to build when there is no spaces. You just used an older version of the command line tool to build your package.

Thanks - I've updated the command line tool and see the error now.

I see the tool is now collecting files differently from the default package folders. Specifically we have all the folders under SubVersion and when we install the package a .svn folder is included.

How can I get NuGet to exclude them again?

I updated the NuSpec doc page with a blurb on this. Let me know if anything else should be updated.
