Can't use NuGet in website project

Dec 14, 2010 at 9:16 AM

When I use NuGet in a ASP.NET Website project, it only put the package.config into the site, and the package contents in the folder of the solution. The web.config isn't touched, and the package content won't show up in the bin folder. Is this by design? Or am I doing things wrong?

If I change the project type to Webapplication, it does work though...

It should work in WebSites.  Can you give more details about the exact steps that you are taking?  i.e. What command are you typing?

I have the same issue with some packages.

Steps:

Through the Pakcage Manager UI I installed EFCodeFirst.

It works in Web Application projects (packages folder is created, EFCodeFirst.0.8 folder is created, reference to the .dll is added in the project), but in Website projects it just adds the entry in package.config, but does not do anything else.

You are correct, there is an issue with Web Sites.  We are investigating...

Cool! It is a path problem, so I can work around it :) Keep up the good work!
