Integrating a NuPack package into an existing installation?

I scanned the faq and documentation and didn't find this. But what is the procedure for introducing NuPack into an existing project that has open source dependencies?

I'll explain with an example. I'm currently using Elmah in my project. I would (eventually) like to update this project to have that (and other) dependencies managed by NuPack ... but as I've already downloaded it, added it to my repository (I keep a /dependencies folder for these things), and configured it, I wonder what would be the process of migrating to use NuPack to manage this.

this is awesome, looking forward to seeing this grow :-)

Great question. Honestly, I think it's going to be a manual process.

  1. Remove ELMAH from your project entirely.
  2. Install ELMAH via NuPack
  3. Profit!

The benefit you'll get is that you can automatically find out when any package has an update by running the List-Package -Updates command (or by simply checking the Add Package Referenc dialog for updates).

That's what I figured :-P Yes, definitely agree with those benefits ... that's why I eyed the ruby community with a green eye from time to time. This is going to be awesome
